TEACHING BACKGROUND

I have been teaching for 30+ years privately, and at Surajhankar, Pune. My close-knit group of students regularly perform at various cultural events. Since 2019, I have been conducting online singing lessons for students in other cities and countries. My students and I have a close relationship, built around the shared love of music.​

MUSICAL BACKGROUND

​

I was introduced to formal music training at Dakshinee, Kolkata. I continued on to Hindustani classical training from a private tutor under Bharatiya Sangeet Bidyahar. I also studied at Bengal Music College, Kolkata.

Apart from Rabindrasangeet and Hindustani classical music, I have also learned Nazrul Geeti, Atul Prasadi, Rajanikanter Gaan, Dwijendralal Roy's music, Bhajan, Bhakti Geet, and more.

I have been fortunate to have acclaimed gurus to guide me in my musical pursuits, A few notable names I have learned from are Acharya Sailarajan Majumdar, Shubho Guha Thakurta, Rano Guha Thakurta, Dr. Amit Mitra, Purabi Dutta, Chinmoy Chattopadhay, Chandidas Mal, Prasad Sen, and many other renowned performing artists.
